Importance of Responsibility
Hello All, after a small gap here I am to interact with you all once again. This time we are going to discuss about an important aspect of our life which we all fear to face but it is the most simplest of all - "Responsibility"
Though the word may give out a complex meaning, the effort required for us to be responsible is very less compared to the benefits it gives back. I will show you two examples in life which will help you understand the importance of responsibility.
Imagine the following scenario in a work place, there were two employees in an office - Anil was working there for a substantial period of time while Mr. Bobby was a new comer to this firm but had ample experience and knowledge as equal as the other employee. Anil was very dedicated in his work and will not refuse any work assigned to him and is a jack of all trades while Bobby was an expert in his field of work and he was focused only on his stream of work and was dedicated towards to his job. One day there was a situation when most of the employees were not available due to local holiday but there was a sudden meeting was organised with the client and the manager was looking for someone to assist him in preparing a presentation, his first choice was Anil unfortunately he wanted to watch a game without any disturbance so turned off his phone. At last Bobby was the only person reachable and the manager informed him about the emergency of the situation. Though he was not able to come to office, he collected necessary information from his manager and managed to prepare a impressive presentation and with the help of which the clients were very happy.
As the manager had the responsibility to prepare for the client meeting on a day off in a attractive way, he received much appreciation from his clients and they also gained confidence in the firm and provided him with a important project worth a huge amount. In turn Bobby who took over the task from the manager and completed it in a successful manner received good appreciation from his management and also was given the responsibility of executing the new project. Here the effort taken by the manager was to be available to meet the clients even on a holiday and Bobby was ready to take up the task on a holiday by understanding the importance of the situation which is small compared to the gains they got for their effort. Here Anil was supposed to be given more importance for the new project but he missed one phone call from his manager and thus missed the important role at work. This is not his fault though, and the one with responsibility was awarded.
Similarly we can see the following situation, once lived a family in a remote place away from the cities. It consists of a father, mother and their two sons. The father was a farmer and lived a happy life. Days passed and the sons were matured and were married at the same time. Both the sons were working in two different cities and after marriage they went back to their respective town along with their wife. Their parents became old by then, the first son was very busy and did not find time to visit his parents, on the other hand the younger one made it a habit of visiting them twice every month and spent his holidays along with his parents in his home town. As time went the parents decided to give away all their wealth to the younger one as he took the responsibility to look after them, but the younger son refused to accept it and gave equal share to his brother because he thought if he accepted it he will gain the hatred of his brother who is the only family member left after their parents. Even here we see the difference in the effort put by both the sons and the end result for each of them.
So I wanted to show you all the importance of responsibility in our personal as well as office life. We need not take huge efforts in order to be responsible rather it is the simplest of them all which is required to be responsible. It is not a individual task to be responsible, instead if you love whatever you do, you will be responsible in it because it is nothing but the care and importance you give it to the task or person which will lead you to be so. If we all are responsible in our duties we can build up a beautiful world where love and affection will flow in each and every place thus leading to a peaceful Earth.
